Feds may call off air tower closures that led to lawsuit The Federal Aviation Administration may not move forward with plans to close up to 149 small airport towers that resulted in the American Association of Airport Executives suing the agency last month to keep them open. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood has reportedly told policymakers that FAA probably won't close the towers thanks to legislation recently passed by Congress that gave it more flexibility in dealing with cuts due to budget sequestration, according to the Associated Press.
